Well, another year has flown by. 2015 went by like a shot. My grandparents always said, the older you get, the faster time seems to go by. I think that's why people my age probably have their mid-life crisis about now.
I had a very busy 2015 and this year looks to be just as jam packed, but that's great!
3 films that I had the good fortune to be a part of are being released in 2016, so I will have TONS of artwork to post as they come out.
Just thought the first post this year should be a highlight of what's to come.
1. KUNG FU PANDA 3
Now, I didn't have anything to do with this film but, my partner of 19 years and soon to be my husband did.
Jeff is the Co-Producer and has been working on the KungFu Panda franchise for more than 10 years. Jeff's an amazingly talented, smart and kind producer. I'm super excited for him and the film and I just wanted to give him and all the hard working artists and techs at Dreamworks a shout out for their hard work and dedication.
Also, a bit of proud trivia, Jeff created, Kai, the supernatural villain of KFP3! That's right! He wrote a treatment for the sequel ages ago that the studio went back to, to find Po's adversary for this third go around. Jeff researched the mythology, added his own story and character elements and came up with the creature you'll see in the film. So, so proud of him!
2. ANGRY BIRDS-THE MOVIE
This is the first of my three films. I had an absolute BLAST on this film! I've still, never played the game but the project was just all out fun, creative, silly, insane. I cannot wait to see the finished film! I think it's going to be a very pleasant surprised!
3. THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS
This may just be one of the sweetest animated films in a long time. I love working for Illumination and the zany tone of their films, but this project finds a slightly different tone, maybe it's just that it's dealing with our pets, what they mean to us, what we mean to them, but while it's still insanely funny, it's got a HUGE heart. I've seen a fairly complete version and it's fantastic!
4. SING
The second Illumination film that will be out at the end of 2016, is still being shrouded in a bit of mystery, so I won't say much for now, but it's clearly a musical and the animal filled world is beautiful to see, just so inventive and stylish. Anxious for the studio to start releasing more info on this one, but here's some images that are out in the press.
Looking forward to sharing lots of fun artwork on the blog this year!
